Hair dye question!!!!~?

ive got dark brown almost black hair and im after that blue black look. i know my best option is to lighten my hair a little then dye is blue black but what do you think would happen if i just dyed it blue with out lightening it?

I myself am a hairdresser, there should be no problem coloring it blue black unless you had bleached out hair. In that case it would wash out a dingy bluish color. Since you are already dark ask your stylist for a midnight or onyx black color. Remember, black is the hardest to remove from the hair once it's deposited. You will spend alot of money trying to go back to a less harsh of a color. Do not lighten hair first unless you want Blue hair!!!

If there is a Sally Beauty Supply shop near you, go there. They have hair dye formulated just for dark hair. my natural color is black and I've used it to succesful dye my hair red, blonde, brown and a dozen other colors.

just go to the store and buy the blue black hair dye. it will come out blue black . trust me. i dye my hair all the time. if you lighten your hair it will look too blue. if you leave it dark how it is it will turn out black with a hint of blue indoors and outdoors you will have an intense blue look. it will look good. i have dark brown almost black hair too and i have dyed it blue black before. when my hir was light and when my hair was dark. it comes out better on darker hair

only need to prelighten before going super light from super dark, not for going darker.

use VERY LOW volume developer or as it fades it will go muddy colored. not an attractive color on anyone.
