what colour of glitter eyeliner and /or eyeshadow would go well with dark blue eyes, and light brown hair? I like the look of blue or silver? any ideas? and is glitter eyeliner ok for the day if not overdone? if anyone has an answer or opinion on any of these questions, it would be of help, thankyou x

I'm not sure if I would use glitter liner during the day; it's more of a night look. So if you're going out, maybe try some dark blue glitter eyeliner to match your eyes, and some shimmery eyeshadow.

I believe that gold would actually be a better colour to compliment your eyes, because they are blue they are seen as a bright colour and you want them to look bright when you're wearing make-up too. Shades of gold, peach and even cream will have your eyes looking sparkly, obviously to go for a more dazzling look one shade isn't very sufficient so perhaps try a copper, or dark matt brown on the outer corners or your eye and on the crease line.

The blue and silver you are talking about will probably work, if you first apply an off white base all over up to your brow bone, and then apply the silver in the inner corners of your eyes, near enough to the outer corners leaving a tiny space. Use a dark shade perhaps a shimmery sapphire blue colour boujois, mac (they have a fabulous blue in one of the holiday 2007 pallettes) givenchy, dior and even the body shop have great choice of these colours. and use the darker shade on the outer corners of your eyes, blending it in. Using a darker shade on the outer corners of your eyes makes them appear bigger, brighter and more defined!

If you're just looking to use a glitter eyeliner I wouldnt go for a whole all over silver eye then a dark liner, it's far too contrasty and definately too much for the day. Perhaps try using black liquid liner and doing a cat eye (think old hollywood, dita von teese) and then above that apply a thin line of the glitter liner. The black liquid is a classic look, but the glitter liner will update it and leave it a bit more modern and will definately fit in with the holiday season. MAC do khol glitter eye pencils and they have them in a variety of colours, infact they have just got a holiday 2007 set from the curiotease line, with 5 pencils in it (blue, tourquoise, black, purple and creamy gold) they are fab fab fab!

Urban Decay also have a glitter eyeliner called "heavy metal liner" in a variety of colours including "baked" which is gold, "air guitar" which is touquoise, "glam rock" which is silver, "head banger" which is purple and "spandex" which is a much darker touquoisey/blue and would probably suit you.
