First and foremost- Not BLUE! Also, stay away from shimmery pastels... that is a huge mistake fo daily wear. Special occassions are a different story but you need something clean, simple and colors that will accent your eyes.

Look at MAC's website, or any other brand name make-up site

Light blues and browns will look the best, and dark blue eyeliner adds a nice touch and it also brings attention to your eyes. Try liquid eyeliners for a dramatic affect or stick eyeliner for a soft look. But brown and light blues are definnately the way to go. Good luck! =)

Metallics are in this season for clothes and make-up.

Enhancing your eyes with makeup is the best way to bring out your beauty. Whether they are big, small, round, narrow, or deep set, you can always play them up and give them a touch of glamour. There are a few rules I like to follow when doing eyes but the most important one is have fun!

Always apply a highlight shade under the eyebrow and in the tear duct area of the eye. This opens up the eye and gives it a bright eye look. If you are younger you can choose shadows or creams with shimmer in them and if you are older stick with sheer but matte colors like vanilla. Some highlight shades are light pink, white, vanilla, gold, iridescent, and champagne.

For a natural day look you can just use the above step but if you want a little more definition, apply an eye shadow shade across the lid and a slightly darker one in the crease. The key to applying eye shadow is blending what kind of eye shape you have will determine what type of shading should be used.

Apply a dark liner to the lash line of the eyes. You can use a pencil, shadow, or liquid depending on what look you are going for. This gives the look of a full set of lashes framing your eyes. The closer to the lash line the more natural the effect.

Mascara is a must on top lashes. If you tend to smudge under your eyes you can skip it underneath. Curling lashes first makes a huge difference on straight lashes. It will give the eyes more drama.

When choosing colors to enhance your eyes use shades opposite your eye color. The contrast will really make them stand out.

Don't over do it. If you are doing a strong or bright lip then use minimal eye makeup. A good classic look is to apply the highlight shade, then a taupe shade across the lid and a dark line along the lashes, followed by mascara.

For a sexy smokey look if your eyes are a bit larger you can rim the inside with a black pencil.

When using cream shadows apply only on the lid and not into the crease so the color does not become a creasy, greasy mess.

Splurge on brushes. Blending is so important when using eye shadows and having good brushes makes all the difference. I like a lot of brushes available at local art suppliers.

If loose shadow falls under the eye when you are applying shadow, wipe away with a sponge dipped in a little foundation. It is the perfect eraser.

I would use purple (Violet Frappe from Covergirl), Pink Venus from MAC cosmetics, and 12 Hour Eyeshadow Quad

Colorstay By Revlon. Stay away from blue eyeshadow and watch What Not to Wear on TLC.
